Saturn is the operating system for your freelance business.
If you've ever stitched together Notion for project notes, Toggl for time, Stripe for invoices, Google Docs for requirements, and a Slack DM for client sign-off — Saturn is the thing that replaces all of it. One workspace, one login, one bill, end-to-end.
Why Saturn
Freelance work isn't really about the work. It's about everything around it: scoping a project, getting the client to actually agree to the scope, tracking the hours, sending an invoice that ties back to those hours, chasing payment, and then doing it again next month. Most of us patch this together with five or six tools that don't talk to each other, and the seams show up as missed hours, scope creep, and invoices nobody can verify.
Saturn is built around the workflow itself, not around any single artifact. A requirement signed by your client this morning is the same requirement your hours roll up to this afternoon and the same requirement that ends up as a line item on next week's invoice.
What you get
- Projects, milestones, and requirements — write requirements in a real editor, route them to the client, get them signed off, and use them as the unit of work everything else hangs off.
- Timesheets — log hours against requirements, mark them billable, approve them as a workspace owner, and export the week as xlsx.
- In-app time tracking — start a timer on any requirement, stop it when you're done, and it becomes a regular time entry. No separate tool.
- Invoices — generated from your tracked hours and expenses, with PDF export, your own numbering scheme, default currency per workspace, and client sign-off built in.
- Expenses — track them, attach them to a project, get them approved or reimbursed, and roll them into invoices.
- Clients — give clients a dedicated portal where they review and sign requirements, milestones, and invoices, without needing a Saturn account.
- Team — invite members, set roles, and put a base rate on each member so invoices know what to charge.
Pricing
Saturn is free to try with sensible limits, and Pro is one flat subscription per owner — unlimited workspaces, unlimited members. Not per seat, not per workspace. If you're running three side projects under three workspaces, that's still one Pro plan.
The free tier exists so you can run a real project end-to-end without a card. Upgrade when you outgrow the limits, downgrade whenever.
